The taxi tariff is set and governed by Transport for London. The meter calculates the maximum fare based on time of day, distance travelled and the speed at which the taxi is travelling. There are currently three different tariffs and these are applied depending on which time of day and day of the week you travel.

The passenger will be expected to pay the full fare displayed on the meter at the end of the journey unless the driver and passenger agree on the final fare to be charged before the start of the journey.

For more information on tariffs click here to visit the TFL website.

The average fare into central London is approximately £50/55 on the meter, and this is per vehicle not per person! This means that if 3 or more people are travelling, the price could be as little as £10.00 per person.

Not only can a taxi be substantially cheaper than other forms of transport, it will take you from door to door and won't stop to pick up other passengers on the way!

Whilst taxi fares are calculated on an approved in-cab meter, we understand that sometimes, you want to know what you are going to pay before you travel. That's why Heathrow Taxis offer a set price list for many destinations inside and outside London.

As part of this set price list and in conjunction with Heathrow Airport Limited, we also abide by a 'Fare's Fair' policy which ensures you receive value for money on destinations close to the airport.

Beware of other transport providers offering cheaper than taxi services from Heathrow. It could end up costing you a lot more than they claim.
