Online Booking is here!
Heathrow Taxis' online booking portal went live on 27th September 2011. The new system allows customers to pre-book and pay online for taxis to and from Heathrow Airport. Customers will still receive the same level of great service but the whole booking and payment process has been vastly improved.
Credit/Debit card customers can now choose to make spot bookings or to register their details so that their personal information is stored in the system making future bookings even faster. In addition to this users have the ability to view their current and past bookings and the option to apply for a credit account facility and receive their invoices online.
All prices are calculated on a postcode to postcode basis and include all administration, fees and VAT (where applicable) so you know when booking that the price you see is the price you will pay.*

From September 2011, Heathrow Taxis' drivers will have the opportunity to fill up their cabs at a revolutionary new Biodiesel filling station at Heathrow Airport. Advance Fuels, a growing, local fuel distributor has created a fuel filtration process which will bring the licensed taxi drivers at Heathrow a cleaner fuel in the form of Liquid Energy. The fuel is an EN590 blended diesel with up to 7% bio diesel content. The bio diesel is sourced from Mabanaft who continually rank at the top of the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) league tables for biofuel sustainability.
Independent tests were conducted at the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) approved emissions test facility at Longbridge which showed reduced emissions and improved MPG. The testing procedure was conducted by Inspectorate, one of two leading global testing agencies, and validated by Heathrow Taxis, BAA, PCO, The London Taxi Company and local Trade groups.
The fuel is super filtered on site to remove impurities and contamination. Fuel contamination restricts vehicle performance and can cause serious and expensive damage to many fuel system components including pumps, lines, and injectors or even cause engine failure.
The testing was done on a TX4 supplied independently by The London Taxi Company. The test cab had 60,000 miles on the clock and had a service immediately prior to being delivered to the test facility. The baseline fuels were sourced from a local retail forecourt and also as regular EN590 diesel. The test fuel was filtered in a process witnessed by the stakeholders listed above. The results were as expected and, based on the testing will provide greener operation for licensed taxi drivers and their businesses and reduced fuel costs through improved operating efficiency which results in improved MPG.
There are no modifications required for the vehicle and there are no adverse effects if other fuel is added to the tank. The fuel ensures that less harmful contaminants are going through the fuel system which means less damage to the engine and engine components.
